Easy apple cake

Apple cake is a classic fruit cake that can be prepared in many different versions. This version is especially moist, tastes wonderful and always turns out a treat.

Ingredients

For the base
2 apples
3 eggs
200 g sugar
A little ground cinnamon
100 g flour
1 tbsp yeast
For the topping
3 tbsp peach jam
2 tbsp sugar
Lemon juice from half a lemon

Method

  • Step 1

    Grease the cake tin with butter and dust with flour.
  • Step 2

    Wash the two apples, chop and remove the core. Put the three eggs, sugar and ground cinnamon into a mixer and combine. As soon as everything has been thoroughly mixed, add the flour and yeast.
  • Step 3

    Pour the mixture into the cake tin and bake for 15 minutes at 150°C (fan) in a pre-heated oven. You know the cake is ready if you insert a skewer and it comes out clean.
  • Step 4

    For the topping, mix the jam with the sugar and lemon juice and simmer for two minutes.
  • Step 5

    Once the cake has cooled, you can put the topping on. And now it’s time to eat – bon appétit!
